October Out and About Great Hikes To Take with Your Dog

October is my favorite month!  The palette of colors that nature paints, the smell of bonfires and the sound of the leaves crunching beneath my feet on a walk through the woods? Super excited and don't even get me started on how much I love Halloween. October is the perfect time of year to go exploring. The weather is ever changing and there's a charge in the air.  Hiking or just walking your dog allows for beautiful scenery and fitness that is unsurpassed.  We are very lucky to live in a place where we can stay local (Valley Forge Park, French Creek State Park, The Perkiomen River Trail) or travel a short distance (the Poconos, Ricketts Glen State Park, The Wissahickon Trails, Hickory Run) and be transported to the woods, forests, mountains, rivers and streams that are filled with a serenity that just lets you ...breathe. Geartac Systems has so many products that make your time outdoors more enjoyable with your dog.  Our dog Darby loves the trails, trespasses and all the scents and sights that are found there and so do we. We recently added a great travel pac that can be purchased as a part of a package or on its own if you already have the Geartac K9 Hands Free Walking Device and I have to say it is really great.  We had the chance to test out the Gearpac on several hikes and loved the freedom and versatility it gave us when out exploring with our dog.  Below are some suggestions for amazing dog friendly hikes across the country.  Consider making the Geartac K9 and Gearpac part of your essential gear.  You won't be sorry. We are currently running a special on our website.  Use the code "OCTOBEROUTANDABOUT" and receive 10% off of your purchase of $50 or more.  Here's to October with its happy trails and wagging tails!
